I’m Candace Morris, wedding photographer and storyteller behind Sixteen Seventeen Photography. Since starting my business in 2021, weddings have been my greatest passion, and I’ve had the honor of documenting 30+ celebrations. My work is rooted in a love for art and honest storytelling, creating images that feel like heirlooms, filled with warmth, beauty, and meaning.
Every couple’s story genuinely matters to me, and I’m not afraid to admit I’m often crying behind the camera on wedding days because I feel so much joy for my couples and the love I’m witnessing. And when the day feels a little chaotic (because weddings can!), I’m there as your steady hand, gently guiding when you need it, staying calm, and making sure you never feel alone in it. I capture your day with the same care and dedication I’d want for my own story, and for my children’s one day, so you can relive it for years to come.

I'm a high school English teacher, and my love of romance, love stories, and fairytales has absolutely led me to this path in life. I love nothing more than seeing your partner cry when you're walking down the aisle; hearing a baby cooing their first words at their parents; getting to play a role in all the surprises you could imagine; and watching your family grow through every milestone. I love, love. It's my favorite thing in the world and I can't believe I get to see it over and over again. If you’re wildly in love—no matter what that looks like—you belong here. I'm perfect for couples who are obsessed with each other, maybe a little unconventional, and definitely non-traditional. I'd much rather wake up at 3am to hike up a mountain and chase the perfect sunrise than lounge around sipping mimosas and watching golfers hit a few morning rounds. Give me crisp rocky mountain morning over a stuffy conference room any day. I'm the photographer who is there to fix your veil, talk you off a ledge, approve 98371293 outfits, and view your Pinterest board as many times as you need to make sure the vibes are immaculate. And yes, you can text me 400 times about when your makeup artist needs to get there. I will probably send you memes to calm you down... When I'm not teaching Frankenstein to headstrong seniors or photographing your moments, you can find me on the Tennessee-Tombigbee river with my family, hunting with my husband and our friends, or cooking for my family. The perfect memories are the ones that feel the most like everyday life, and I try my hardest to make sure your pictures don't just look like the moment, they feel like them too.
